Other ways to help
The success of Ready to Start and each participant on the programme can be greatly increased with everyone's support. Here are just a few ideas of how you can play an important part in ensuring that Ready to Start is a successful platform for as many disabled people as possible who are committed to going into self-employment.
If you are in business...
Attitudes can present the biggest barriers to disabled people intent on going into self-employment. Many people see disability as an impossible barrier to making a success of a person's life. But the reality is that disabled people have a great deal to offer their local communities, including establishing and running successful businesses. A broad belief in what disabled people have to offer to the business world can help remove the attitudinal barriers that hold so many people back. Simply visiting this website and seeking updates to the progress of Ready to Start is a very positive way to get a closer understanding of what it takes for a person with a disability to go into self-employment.
If you are a disability organisation...
The success of Ready to Start is very much dependent on the active partnerships between Leonard Cheshire Disability and local disability organisations in the 27 towns and cities that the programme will ultimately be available in. We are always looking to develop new partnerships to extend what we can offer. If you are part of a disability organisation that believes it has a part to play in supporting disabled people in self-employment then we would love to hear from you!
If you would like to support us...
If you would like to make a donation to Leonard Cheshire Disability so that it can extend the training programmes it provides then we would be very grateful to hear from you. In the first instance simply drop us an email and we will be back in touch very shortly to discuss how you would like to show your support to Leonard Cheshire Disability and its work with disabled people.
